To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Any suggestions for a center console for a 2002 Yukon XL? For the past 8+ years I have had two radios mounted where the Tape Deck & Storage slot should be, but I am planning on making some changes to the truck, to keep it around another 3 years or so, and as such would like to pull out the center console and install one to more properly install a total of four radios.

Any ideas? Links are helpful.

Thanks.

I have a drop-in center console insert that replaces the cupholders and that cubby you are talking about. I believe it is a jotto desk. I can dig it out in a few days and show some pics.

No one is running a 2002 (or same style) Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon, Yukon XL, Silverado with a center radio console? I am searching, but not really finding much. I want the ability to drop in 4 radios, a phono arm, with cup holders and if at all possible, a 'drop slot' on the right for papers.

You're probably only going to find the floor plate on the used market. Havis, Troy, Jotto all made custom legs for the 2000-2006 full size GM trucks. Once you get that part, there are many options for straight and angled consoles that bolt onto the plate and then you choose the specific brackets for your radios. I can't even find the part numbers for the plates anymore it's been so long.

Take a look at the install I did in my 2002 Silverado- I have the same console as you do. If you have questions or need dimensions please don't hesitate to look me up.
