2004 Mustang Scanner Install

Not that others haven't posted similar installs. Had my double din stereo head unit go belly up and finally found the right combinations for its replacement! A Kenwood stereo and GRE PSR-410.

Here's the finished install.

Had to bend the bracket so the antenna would sit vertical, but I still gave it a small swept look. Looking for signals within 5-10 miles of performance. I'm using a Larsen 150/450/800 antenna.

Very professional install, looks great. What are you doing for speaker audio?

I'd like to find the right amplified speaker to add. The install allows for reasonable monitoring while driving with the stereo off and the volume up. The headphone jack on the unit is most useful as I can use a single ear bud. If I really want to pay attention, the stereo has the aux 3.5 mm input that I can route the headphone jack to:lol:.

You've got to start somewhere for antennas. Research will only take you so far and this looked like a good starting place. I'll listen in to work on my commute in to get an initial read of what's going on (industrial), where the RR places its cars (sometimes at crossings ), now that winter's over--snow plows, and of course, emergency vehicles or what's causing the delayed commute.

Yes, through the use of a 3.5mm stereo patch cable.

I use that same antenna - except mine is NMO.
