Should be WQDE987, Pores Knob, in Wilkes County (Moravian Falls).

Anyone else in the region picking it up?

BC396T shows it to be site 63 on system ID 6038.

Even though it will be a while before SHP makes the 800 MHz switch, some activity does
occur, and it is pretty cool to sample things to come!

One interesting TG to listen out for in the coming months will be 4176 used by the state technicians working on the network.

They were using Bravo 1 special events for a DUI checkpoint(location not known).
Nothing tonight though.

Heard two radio techs talking today over the Farmville site today. They were talking about working on the Burgaw site tomorrow. I assume this is a VIPER site even though there is one listed in the database.

I finally got my 1st chance to listen to VIPER. TG 2096 with Raleigh & some units talking back as well. TG 4176 with two techs talking as well. One was stating that he was going to check in at a hotel in Hickory and then get dinner :lol:

All of those were on the Bakers MT site. My Pro-97 was getting about 81% at the Rudy Tuesdays & 97-99% in the mensroom at samsclub (you should have seen the looks on the guys face besides me)

Techs mentioned that Seven Springs (Lenoir County) would be going live in two weeks.

That site's call is WQBK495 and is located near Hwy 55 & SR 1150.

heard two techs talking today. They said they were on the Seven Springs site. They were useing talk group 4176 on 898.1875 (at least that was the CTL). They also said that Newton Grove was up and running now.

Cokesbury (WQCZ372) located S.W. of Duncan in Harnett County said to be online.

This bit of info came up in a conversation about site affiliations being observed during installation work. For some reason, the techs didn't think they had so many radios set on their talkgroup at the time. Interesting comment!

Seven Springs site is very active. I can hear it on my pro-95 in my house 20 miles south of Kinston. Cant with till the Kinston site goes up.

The comment about the talkgroups is most likely because the radio techs and the microwave techs set up the sites, and the computer group sets up the software and enables the sites. They don't always communicate with each other. Imagine that.
