If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I bought a Jotto desk for my Impala on eBay, and its a tight fit, I knew that getting it, but I know it fits 00-05 Impala's with a bench or bucket seats. Well, it is such a tight fit I can't install squeeze it into position. I believe I need to remove the driver seat so I can line it up and slide it in. The problem? Impala's are a pain in the a$$ and I can't figure out where the bolts are to remove the seat. Has anyone else had to do this? Any advice? Thanks!

JottoDesk currently has two equipment consoles for Impalas. One is for bucket seats, the other for bench seats. Both are for Impalas '06+. I have no available information on any previous console(s) that may have been manufactured for 00-05 vehicles. I'd suggest you contact their tech support.

The seat bolts are on the backs of the rails, accessible from the back seat. The front of the seat rails slip into a notch in the cross-car support and are held down from the rear.

I have the bucket seat console for my bench seat configuration. I had to remove the drivers seat at a minimum. I removed both front seats and made for running wires/cable that much more easier under the floor. Both seats are bolted down with two bolts on the rear. You have to move the seat clear forward, removed the two bolts, disconnect the power seats(if equipped), move the seat back about half way, recline the back rest clear back, then lift from the rear to get the front of the seat out of its hinged groove(for lack of better term).

I have actually became a pro removing the seats, so when I go to the car wash, I remove the front seats while vacuuming the car out.
