welcome to the Derby Chris.... I wasn't the only one wnadering around Churchill with a scanner I see.... good ears!

sounds like the Louisville Housing Authority is involved somewhere as well on 453.875 (sorry, missed the tone).... they made their debut with this question: "...is a mint julep allowed on the bus?"

the TARC folks are on 453.325 (203.5), some of it is really entertaining....

there are some folks on 453.5125.... they are "Derby Opns", "Derby 1", etc.... asking for waters, etc... this is licensed to the Commonwealth of KY....

also heard some traffic on the KSP repeater freqs, especially while the Governor was on site with Willard Scott for the morning live insert....

Radio checks this morning on the Kentucky National Guard repeater - 143.0 MHz in, 142.350 MHz out.

Lots of references to the "Blue Bunker" on all the public safety frequencies at the Derby. Also heard mention of the "JOC", most likely the Joint Operations Center...

Actually, this one IS in the database:

http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=TRSDB&sid=1132

If you could post what talkgroups you've been catching and what traffic, it'd be VERY much appreciated (I've been trying to map this system off and on, and there are quite a few unidentified talkgroups).

Yup, I was advised...

Here is what I found for talk group activity on Saturday:

206-1 - Unknown, too intermittant to figure out

505-4 - Sounded like security guards at gates

600-0 - Derby activities re; buffet status, tent too hot, etc.
600-1 - Derby activities
600-3 - Derby activities re; re; Millionare's Row, Credentials
600-10 - Derby activites

700-0 - Derby activities
700-1 - Security at Churchill Downs + LPD Units
700-4 - Security guards
700-5 - Derby Activities
700-6 - Parking & traffic control

All I could come up with while I had time to listen...

Most, if not all, of 700-xx is Brantley Security (from what I've been able to determine; I do know Brantley does security at 4th Street Live as well as Derby, and I've heard those talkgroups when neither is open so in all odds these are Brantley general use channels that tend to get more traffic during special events).

600-xx is either Churchill Downs proper or *possibly* another Brantley subgroup. I am suspecting the former--generally these talkgroups get very little traffic when the Downs isn't in session. (At least one talkgroup, 600-00, is known to be associated with the KY Derby Festival; the rest are generally in use for various Derby activities or at Churchill Downs itself. There is one talkgroup (600-02) which had HVAC repair traffic monitored on it, but the associated company is unknown and it well could be Churchill Downs maintenance.)

505-04 (and likely 505-xx) are also a general subgroup belonging to security agencies; 505-01, for instance, is used for security guards with the Downtown Business Management District. (Yes, a *lot* of security usage is found with the RCS system in Louisville!)

206-01 is also one I've been trying to identify.

For those who have Trunker or can work with comma delimited files and are monitoring in the Louisville area, I'm formally asking your kind assistance :3 I'm posting what I've monitored via Trunker for the past month or so (pre-Derby, admittedly) on the Louisville RCS--if we can fill gaps, all the better :3
