To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Does anyone have any suggestions or examples of a console for a 2007-2014 Suburban, with six radios?

The console seems considerably wider than that of my 2002 Yukon XL.

Going in are a Kenwood TK 790/890 (single head, dual deck), Vertex 6000, two Uniden 996P2 units, along with a TYT MD9600 as a secondary dual band mobile and a President Ronald as a CB. I am trying to figure out if the console may be wide enough for MD9600 and CB to be in line with the console and the two 996P2 scanners to be side ways next to them, sort of in a 'square pattern"

The radios fit easily in a 2002 Yukon XL with a Havis console, but the dashboard of the newer Suburban eats up all that space that was available in the older truck.

I'm thinking sort of like the attached image (obviously not to scale, but just a general layout idea). The other image is the radio console for the 2002 Yukon XL.

On the sides of the console will be a series of brackets for an XTS3000 VHF, XTS3000 UHF, MT-1000 low band , Kenwood VP5000 and Harris XG-1000. This is my current set up for easy access to the portables, hopefully the transition from a 2002 Yukon XL to 2009 Suburban would allow for this as well.
