110W VHF and 100W UHF Orion's combined into one control head. Antenna's pictured are a 1/4 wave VHF and 5/8 wave UHF. The UHF antenna has since been changed out to a 1/4 wave UHF to clear the garage door.

Off the top of my head I can count where I have used it 14 times. I'm still on the original blade.

I, too, run a vhf & uhf into a single Orion head (full key pad). I even believe they are better than the Motorola equipment I used to run!

Most of the older GE / M/A-Com stuff is cheaper then a tank of a gas. If you have enough patience, you can pick some really good deals up off eBay.

I'd love to run a Dual Orion in my car, bloody cable for the control head is too think though. Running the cable for my A9 wasn't too bad but I wouldn't call it fun.

Orion control cables and speaker cables are massive....they take up a lot of real estate.....theyre also extremely power hungry too. I used to have a lot of PA issues with them even at half wattage. i still liked them though.

That is nice and clean. Did she impose a limit on how many radios you can put in the Uplander?

Excellent work, looks great!

Sounds like you're using too much downward pressure? As they taught me at work, don't push too hard, let the blade do all the work.

You buy that for Lish? Or get rid of your Impala?

Traded the Grand Am in for it. The Grand Am got rough pretty quick after two deer hits and a slide into the ditch(not her fault BTW).

I wanted to do a 9" console between the front bucket seats. It would have made it easy for adding radio's anyways. I haven't specifically heard of a limit yet, I just have to get approval for where the control head will go. Next project is changing out the factory double DIN AM/FM radio for a AM/FM/XM aftermarket radio and a BCD996t in place of the factory radio.

I did at first as well, trick is to go very slow. I've gotten to the point now where drilling a hole takes me about 5-10 minutes. Take it slow, very light pressure and plenty of WD40, that'll increase your tip life quite a bit. ;)

I've drilled 16 holes with my current Antenex hole saw and works great!
