Its a Radio Shack discone antenna. Its actually a Diamond DJ130 (if I remember right). Elements are not the best (hollow rods) but the rest of the antenna is very solid and it works well for a broad band antenna. I hear Halifax well on 155 MHZ here and also hearing down to New Bern also. Not bad for a scanner antenna and I only have it at the height of my one story roof (at the peak) on a TV mast. I might get a FM/TV inline amp for it. Not sure yet, as I use it as a ham antenna as well with good results. If I use the amp, it will be a receive only antenna. I used Threadlocker and the elements are nice and tight. Feel free to email me if you want to know more. 73 Richard W4MCD in Edenton

Heard that one yesterday, no idea what it is though.

3968 has been pretty active, some type of surveillance.
Logged 4532.

4192 was also surveillance. By the comms they were in Buncombe Co looking for the robbery suspects from Spartanburg who were also tied to a murder in Pickens.

Looks like Chambers mtn in Haywood is on. My radio was affiliated with it tonight. Site 27 is what is looking like.

Well add TGID 4032 to the unknown list. Was hot yesterday, sounded like either a tactical team or surveillance of some sort. Heard all afternoon last evening on the Hibriten tower. Was in the clear the whole time.

We could nail it down once some RIDs/UIDs get logged.
Cross reference those RIDs/UIDs with ones affiliated to
other TGs.
On a different note this has been a crazy week at work for me.
I have not been able to do a lot around these parts but thankfully
will be able to do more this weekend as far as helping get more Ham
repeaters listed in the database, etc.
TGIF indeed

VIPER map

My computer crashed yesterday with all of my important scanner links! As I recall, someone has a link to a map that shows the locations of VIPER towers. Can someone re-post that please?
Thanks.

Let me know what your email address is and I'll send it to you right away. If anyone can host a smallish KML file, I can pass it on to you and we can link it in the wiki...

If you email it (once again) to me I can host it. :)
I promise this time I will actually get it linked in the wiki and the database listing. :D
Thanks
