Thanks.

I've never heard the term "L&T" before, but the meaning is simple

The tg#43200 was up most of the night dispatching regular police traffic, sounding like coming from harnett co instead of johnston co.

pboy,

That's the default size we're using to cover all of NC until we can update each site accurately. This way VIPER is usable on the HP-1 until we get things updated.

Would that not monkey with people in Southern VA, Northern SC, or Eastern TN using a Home Patrol that may have no interest in listening to Viper? If they are in the circle and they just monitor everything close or by GPS does it know not to listen for Viper?

To jump in here and clarify a little: the lat/long/range Geolocation feature is for all scanners that use it (mainly the HP-1 and the GRE PSR 700/800 for now). Yes, the default range is not "perfect" but it is the best we can do under the constraints of the shape of our wonderful state. :) I will say that even when I put in my local Raleigh location info into one of the Geolocation scanners that it still by default pulls back SC/TN/VA etc. I then have to "fine tune" the scanned systems to get truly local results.
No matter what there will always be some location tweaking needed to produce "optimal" results.
Hey, if anyone has any better ideas on how to handle oddly shaped states (which make up the majority of our US States) I am sure Lindsay, Eric, Uniden and GRE would all be open to hearing from you :)

Some trivia off the subject, if the you spread the circle for the Johanna Bald site to take in Raleigh it would also include 5 other state capitals.

Greene County

Hello, I am fairly new still to the website. Just letting everybody know that Greene County has gone live on VIPER. As of last week, all Sheriff operations and dispatch have been on VIPER. Next week, Radio One will be installing VIPER radios into Fire Dept appratus around the county so expect to hear them as early as next week on them.

I am not sure on the talkgroup or any more info. If anybody has anymore info on Greene County switch please share with me.

Thanks

Thanks to cmjonesinc for providing the below info. That info along with another submission from the area allowed me to go through and give the Randolph County TGIDs a much needed facelift.
Surf over to the VIPER database listing to see the updated info for that county.

I have added what limited info I have on Greene County to the VIPER database
listing. Please submit any additional verified TG usage for that area.
