2009 CES Las Vegas

Is anyone attending? Im sure some of the manufacturer's will have their reps their. The GRE customer invite, kinda makes it sound like they will be some introducing of their product's as Im sure Uniden will be showing off their newest models also.

Here is a quote from GRE invite to the show,

"This show promises to be an exciting one as we will be introducing our
exclusive Scanning Receivers, LCD, and OEM manufacturing opportunities."

Maybe a newer model GRE coming out?? Guess we will have to wait and see.........

Yes! Attending CES!

On my first trip to CES I went with my boss to see new radios and consoles and cellular equipment. We had a great time seeing all of the prototypes and new models. Then we went down the escalator to the lower convention hall and we discovered an entirely new "CES" the adult CES and that is all I remember. The adult video industry and CES were held together and I do not know if they are still held together. Great to see radio geeks drooling over a new Motorola radio then 10 minutes later see the same radio geek drooling over a porn star.

Maybe some don't know that at one time the video distribution (Primarily porn) industry was part of the Consumer Electronics Industry.
Then its was separate, but in the same convention center.
Now it is at the Sands while we are at the LV.

Have not been in years. :evil:
Not much communications stuff there, but used to go every year when I was involved in consumer electronics.

Now it is just IWCE and APCO. (Not even CTIA )

Its not untill January, 8th thru 11th 2009 Hopefully we will have some good reports from someone that is attending. As much as I would like to escape the cold weather I can't go due to prior engagement. How about it Upman, Don, and Lindsay are you guys going to try and attend??

Ahhh yes, The Consumer Electronics Show The only place with more lairs than D.C.

This will be the new standard for years to come.
No that's not a prototype,
We are ready to start full production any day now.

Went to CES this week. Due to some type of "Corporate Cut Back" Uniden America Corporation and other corporations.
Didn't have a booth this year, and that is possible why UPMan didn't go this year.

GRE had a nice booth showing off the scanners, etc. and handing out 'Carrabeaner flashlights' to visitors
