Anyone in the Newport area, the Carnival Miracle
is scheduled around 11am thru 7pm

I'll be monitoring the frequencies you listed and let you know what I pick up.

Carnival Miracle

Well I had the radio running/recording on the listed frequencies yesterday while I was at work. The only traffic I picked up was on 464.3000 and it wasn't the ship.

Lots of traffic between a few trucks in the area one heading to 136 exit 2 (CT?) and the other one said he was coming up on the 95 /195 split (lots of chatter about runs, weights on trucks, and weather),

A call about nine ticketed passengers going to the Marriot, Westin and Train Station ,

And a coded auto identification signal at regular intervals. With the weather and work I'm not able to say for sure if the ship came in or not. Will try for you agan next time one comes in to Newport.

I forgot to check the AIS [Marine GPS] to see if she made it too.
She is back in NYC this am. However checking the Track she was
in Newport.

Typically you need to be within 5 +/- miles of the ships, depending on the Location of the Repeater and/or the use of Simplex.

How close to the PORT is your monitoring point.??

464.3000 was probably [See RR Database] which is a commercial
repeater, usually rented/leased to multiple users.
