never mind the dirty floor mats... If you live in a snow area, you know how hard it is to keep them clean. I'll have antenna pics soon.

Could you take some more detailed photos? I have a Tacoma as well and I'm trying to figure out how to install some equipment. I thought about the area where you have your equipment mounted but I didn't want to lose access to the power ports. However, I do have a RigRunner mounted up on the passenger side kick panel that I can use. Do the radios interfere with use of the gear shifter?

Looks nice! How do you like the Galaxy 939? Does that unit have the blue LED and backlighting? Also what antenna do you run with it?

Thanks an nice job!

Nice Radios, Nice Camera.

That actually looks like a 959 rather than a 939. I have a Galaxy 959 myself and it's a great CB.

Nice setup APSN556, and by the way, in the first photo, it looks like your 30D focused on the stick shift rather than the radios, but I digress. :D

The gear shifter does not interfere at all. even in park, I have full access to the radios and the knob does not hit them. For the scanner I use a mag mount Spectra Austin Multi band found here Austin Antenna Spectra Multiband Mobile/Base Scanner Antenna

For the Galaxy 959, I use a K40 antenna.

All of my ham gear in the truck are HT's

The cig lighter and power outlets are also able to be used with no problem.

The pics below are of the console holes that needed to be cut. Note the the cuts are messy and not clean in these pics. After these pics were taken, I cleaned them up and smoothed out the edges with a dremmel. The cup holder in the Tacoma can be removed by hand. Simply pull up on it and it will snap out. Dont worry, it snaps back into place if needed, with no effort at all. These holes were made because of two reasons. First and foremost, the radios were too wide to fit in the cubby, so I needed to cut out the sides. second, the wiring and coax is fed through the smaller hole. IF YOU DO THIS, BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO CUT OR OTHERWISE INTERFERE WITH THE SRS AIRBAG SYSTEM WHICH IS THE YELLOW STUFF SEEN IN THE PICTURE!!! Good news is that a complete new cosole can be purchased for under $200 in the event you screw it up or sell the truck.

Okay...I'll have to give it some serious thought. I think my 2510 isn't as deep as the 959. It would be nice if the SRS system was located elsewhere so I could push the radio in far enough to allow use of the cup holders. I plan on putting my 996 (when I get one) under the stereo. I bought the after market dash piece that allows you to replace the factory stereo with an after market and I replaced the Toyota stereo with an Alpine. So now, I have a storage slot under the stereo. But I plan on buying a dash piece that allows for a double din and mount the scanner under it.

Looks good, I have a 2009 Tacoma myself and have my radio head mounted in the same place. You are very brave to cut into the console though!

That's why I purchased a second OEM console for my Tahoe so I can easily replace it if need be.

Very nice, I had a 2009 Tacoma, but mine was a manual so I already had room for one of my radios there.
