They're not images, they are actual services in use, been noting them for months now in the 216-217 MHz range here and that is an area for licensed commercial use. While it always struck me as odd that I never was able to figure out precisely who the frequencies are licensed to, the activity is indicative of disposal companies more than anything else. They're not images of lower frequencies...

Also, this:

Roger that. I know the local 200 system went dark years ago and never came back.

The reason I brought up the GRE thing is that mine picks up stuff from the 450 band in the 200 range.

I pick them up with Close-Call while on I-15 in the Apex area, so I assume one of the repeater sites is there at the Apex LMR site. That'd make sense as the primary landfill for the LV area is hidden away in a valley behind Apex. You can see the entrance & truck weigh station on the S/E side of I-15.

Thanks but I meant what radios as in what radios were being using to transmit on those frequencies and do it in LTR mode.

Finding 220mhz radios is difficult and the best and only good one I know is the TYT 9000 and that's Chinese and problematic from what I hear. The only other one or two are low powered nothings.

So was curious what was being used. Commercial gear is almost always preferable especially if its M stuff.
