They really should not need much more if any. Remember, the system is speced as a MOBILE system, portable coverage is not considered. (Vehicular repeaters being the norm for the state agencies)
I wouldn't have any idea why! On the bright side, the meeting in Sikeston last week had a lot of good info... And I found out they want 5 frequencies off my licenses up here...
Also keep in mind that each site is around 350' AGL; so much more than a regular VHF site for a single county or agency.

H needs a new one after the wind storm this summer. So according to the map, the closest site to me is about 15 miles away, I guess that will provide good listening to where I'm at... Also the wiki shows there will be a total of 228 towers, the map sure doesn't show that many.

Good deal, thanks for clearifying that up. I guess we'll wait and see, they may add more as time goes on. I can't wait to start listening around here in Troop H, waiting for more licences to come online. I wonder if they plan on joining the other P25 systems around the state.

G is using their troop tower.
Although I don't know specifics on A and H I do remember that a couple of the troop towers were either out of location or failed structural for the load. H would have been right between two sites.
It is a rather complex issue to site a statewide system, and sometimes existing assets just don't work.
The state has bought a number of the old AT&T towers over the past few years, and been donated a number of the IXC and MCI towers. They have made a lot of use of those sites.

Nowhere near that coverage - that is why they need 71 sites instead of just one for each troop.

I haven't; but I'm not in that area, so don't have a lot of good contacts there...
