There is a live scanner audio feed for the Barnstable County FDs. And I think there might be a slight delay on the audio. So if you think you are hearing Cape Cod FDs via skip, you might be able to confirm it nearly in realtime via the scanner feed.

Hi,

Up here in Calgary, Alberta Canada I'm picking up skip on the following! Its been comming in the last few afternoons until around 5pm when it dies out. As I type this right now even its booming in today. Still trying to fugure out where exactly its comming from though with clues from street names etc.one clue already was for a call involving Sommerset or Somerset County, Not sure though if NJ or PA. The last time this happened (which was about 10 years ago! ) I was getting skip from Pennsylvania.

Hey Sam,

is there any chance you can get some good recordings of this one and post them somewhere -Im in contact with someone who has an extensive knowledge of Spanish and has widely travelled throughout latin America. I gave him a rather scratchy recording made here and he thought it might have been from Bolivia.

Im thinking that Mexico City might be too close to you for F1 skip- id say its more sporadic E range and we are out of season.

really hope you can help out here as this might be very exotic.

The Barnstable County FDs primarily operate on a 800 Mhz TRS AFAIK. The 33 Mhz simulcasts are relics from the old days. They might have home monitors or pagers on the 33 Mhz channels. Or maybe they just keep them alive for townspeople with old scanners.

33.48 might be the West Barnstable Fire District or the Barnstable Fire District. Both of these Fire Districts protect areas within the Town of Barnstable (which is in turn located within the County of Barnstable).

Yes, I will do that. A couple of guys from Mexico have listened and think the accents are Mexican but they are not sure if the references are Mexico City or Monterrey or another large city with toll roads. It is no problem finding Mexicans in San Antonio - it is a problem finding someone who is interested enough to listen.

I would like to get a positive ID on this one - I have been hearing it consistently for 12 years.
