Okay guys, this is kind of strange.

I've been decoding the Mebane site, and it is showing the SYSid as C123. However, I just noticed that the CT is showing 83.72, or the CT for the C92D system.
Any ideas why this is happening?

Also, Marshall KE4ZNR (or any other DB admin), not sure if you got my PM, but the site number for Mebane is actually #56, not #58 as I indicated in my submission!
If we can get this corrected that would be awesome!

Thanks!

Vern,

Make sure you update the band plan in Trunk88 then apply the new bandplan. Trunk88 is misinterpretting the data you're getting, which explains the 862 & 863 MHz channels.

Thanks Chris! Good eye.
Sorry about the errors on earlier post.
Rebanded freq's will be re-submitted for RRDB update...
I checked FCC file and found that the site's license WQML678 shows the 6 new freq's.
Something new to keep up with in this hobby every day!

I finished up geo-tagging all of the VIPER sites that are active tonight. All location based scanners should track a lot better now and make travelling much easier. All sites with the exception of the Wake Simulcast are set at a 15 mile radius. As time permits tonight at work, I'll be going over all of the control channels to make sure that the scanners using the control channel only feature will track accordingly.

As always, keep the updates coming for rebanding, and if you can take a moment to verify the data for sites local to you, it would be much appreciated.

Pineville & Mint Hill - rebanded freqs

Is anyone having any success with the rebanded sites in Mecklenburg? I've tried updating two radios, a 396 and an HP1, and I'm not having any luck.

Make sure you enter the new bandplan. I'm fixing to verify the database and make sure all 4 sites have been updated (I think they have). Try and download it with FreeSCAN and see.

You can try manually too. Make sure you have the proper bandplan in your 396T, I'm not sure about HP1s:
851.0250 854.0000 25.0 440
851.0125 868.9875 25.0 0
Also make sure you added the new control channels and alts as well.

Edit: Just checked, all sites have the proper frequencies and have been selected as rebanded in the database. A quick test download should give you an example of what your sites/systems should look like.

Thanks Chris. I've tried both radios with the typical Uniden custom bandplan, and no luck. I also just tried downloading a new system using the PIneville and Mint Hill site, and no luck with that either. I'm using ARC396 rather than Freescan, but that shouldn't cause the problem.

I may very well be doing something wrong on my end. I'll play with it some more tomorrow.

If you still can't figure it out tomorrow, go ahead and give FreeScan a try. It's free (obviously) and I can send you my file that I know is working. You can read your scanner and send me the file and I can take a look at it as well and make sure everything is lined up if you want to keep your customization. I should be around most of the day tomorrow, so you can give me a call if you want to as well. Shoot me a PM if you don't have my number anymore.

I LOVE FreeScan and think it's a great program.

Just be aware that if you delete the bandplan entries in FreeScan and program it into the scanner it does NOT delete the entries from the bandplan table in the scanner. I found this out the hard way while troubleshooting a 380MHz military trunked system.

I had to go into the scanner's menu and delete the bandplan entries that way. Just an FYI, this shouldn't affect you since you will be adding 2 entries for the non-standard channel numbers on the rebanded sites. That does throw a monkey wrench in the gears to adding both the old and rebanded control channels (as I had suggested previously), unless you get lucky and none of the frequencies end in even numbers.

Hey Jeff,
9312 is Wildlife Fish Admin. They are under NC Wildlife Resources.
Oh and 9328 is Wildlife Management Admin.
They have been added to the database.

Hey guys, I have a friend thats gonna be in the WNC area for about three days next week. Is the High Windy Mtn (Asheville) site still offline? And is it going through rebanding, or repair of some kind? Which other sites near there are taking up the slack?

Soundman--I moved this post and the one immediately after it to this legacy
3600 VIPER Thread. It was originally wrongly posted in the VIPER P25 9600 thread.
Please watch where you are posting in the future.
Thanks! :)

I think I found the problem. I'm barely getting a signal off the Pineville site, and Mint Hill is quiet. I usually listen to either of those, so they were the only two sites I entered with the rebanded frequencies. Heathway is working fine, and once I plugged in that site everything started to work.

I've never had much luck with the Pineville VIPER site. Mint Hill & Heathway are usually the 2 main sites I keep up with, both have pretty good coverage to the north. I don't venture to South Charlotte that much to know what covers in that area. You've got mail, Scott.
