Ok had a short simulcast from the old system this morning. I heard Troop A Dispatch 1 20005. It was for a very short period of time maybe 5 minutes and that is all I heard. I programmed the talk group and set an alarm to it on my PRO197 along with alarms on the other Troop A TG's that are unconfirmed.

Well that was the first time I have heard a p25 signal as well as a trunked system and all I have to say is WOW it sounds like they are right there with you. Just got my pro 197 Wednesday and I'm still like a little kid on Christmas!

I've been in contact with another member who also caught the traffic on TG 7103. He also lives on the west side of the state near KC. He typed what he heard and it does not match at all with the protocol they use here around the St. Louis area.
I'd say TG 7103 is mislabeled and is not specific to St. Louis as nothing heard today matches any of the communications protocols used here by the various departments. Or, MOSWIN uses a new set of protocols for use on the air. That should be in the MOSWIN handbook though if that's the case.

I do wonder if it could have been a patch to 7103 from another TG. That's possible. He did mention seeing a patch or something from 7103 and 10311 today around the same time as TG 7103 was heard out west. 10311 is statewide Interop 4. I've heard both TG's here in the St. Louis area but 7103 has never carried what seems to have been PD comm type traffic today. 7103 has always been more tech type talk when I've caught its traffic.

I also heard "Hey Bill look over your left shoulder this is where we're going in at" Shortly after though I heard "K9 do you copy?" This is so exciting! These days shall be remembered as the frontier days of MOSWIN and the scanner operators who risked locking out regular traffic to hear MOSWIN develop!

Yep, it is TONS of fun!

I find that my "local radios" are often found with the volume down. I'll hear something on the radio I've dedicated for MOSWIN and I don't even realize that I've turned the volume down on the other radios so I can hear the MOSWIN traffic better.
MOSWIN traffic is still very light here on this side of the state but it is slowly picking up.

I guess that is why that list is mostly unverified. I don't even know where that list came from but I suspect it was provided by someone involved with setting up the system and its sites. I bet a lot of it will be accurate and then some won't be. It will be up to us to figure out what we are hearing on a given TG and submit that when sure it is what you think it is. For me, all the traffic I've heard on 7103 has been what appears to be radio or system techs or maybe even system admins judging from what I've heard.
Then today you guys out west report hearing what appears to maybe have been tactical or car to car PD traffic on 7103. So that has halted my theory that it is a tech TG for the St. Louis area! I guess it could still be something for techs as a user out around KC reported a patch logged from 7103 to 10311 which is Statewide Interop A. Why the comms heard out your way would have been on Interop A is also a mystery.
I'm sure we will see or hear many mysteries while this system is setup.

Since the Water Patrol is now part of the State Highway Patrol, I think their comms will be the same as any other trooper.

TG 7103 came to life again today but I could hear it this time.
They mentioned street names as well as a county name and then the mention of K9 units.

I was able to cross reference the street names with the county mentioned and it appears 7103 is used by Lincoln County, MO or an agency within that county or a state user such as HP or DDCC.

There are streets by similar names in St. Charles county also but the cross streets mentioned on the air did not match up with the St. Charles streets.
They did match exactly with the Lincoln County streets though.

The town in that county that has the matching streets is Eolia, MO. Not sure if it is Eolia PD or Lincoln County Sheriff though that is being heard.
I heard reference to a Lincoln county unit that was not involved in the talk so that kind of makes me think it is not Lincoln County Sheriff but another agency within that county like the town of Eolia itself maybe. Or maybe it is some state PD or DDCC units doing investigations in that area?
The Radio ID's where all in the low 71000 range with 71000 being one that was heard a lot. He talked with RID 71004 and 71002. Some was also encrypted but not all.
Very interesting whoever it is.
I also heard radio techs on the same 7103 talkgroup just minutes before hearing the Lincoln County traffic so it could be some type of patch from another TG into 7103 although I was logging the CC from the New Hope and Weldon Spring sites with two instances of Pro96com running on two receivers for each of those sites. I did not log any patches but if the patch took place on the New Hope site, I could have missed it as that site does go in and out here due to its distance so Pro96com is going to miss logging some of that sites activity.

7103 also noted via Imperial Site earlier this morning, no traffic heard on my end. Just a couple of hits on it.

Is there some software I can use to monitor control channels and see what TG's are active on a site? I just bought by usb cable from the local shack.

I am curious because a source told me that the PSAP radios at Pettis SO are online and are being used for prisoner transfers.

At 08:00 I caught Ranger 20(14222) on talk group 20905. This came off the Lawrenceton tower Frequency of 169.6625 . He was calling Poplar Bluff.

You may be able to use Pro96 Com. Do you have a digital scanner?

At one time there was a map of all the sites, I cannot seem to find it now, does anybody know where it can be found?
