I live in Wadsworth Ohio and would like to know if there's a Homeland Security scanner frequency that is i my range.

Local police and fire is all you need, as that is where enforcement activity occurs. Federal homeland security is encrypted, as are most other alphabet agencies.

If you monitor Marcs, Enter in Ecomm21-28 as these are used by the states DHS, and they are divided up into 8 regions. Ecomm20 is used as the main channel, and you will hear communications testing done with departments across the state. I actually submitted these channels to the database, But was advised that since these are "generic" channels used on marcs they would continue to stay in the database as such. This information can be found on the butler county sheriffs site by clicking on this link: Ohio MARCS « Butler Regional Interoperable Communications System

This will also give you a little insight on what some of the other MARCS channels are used for.

Hope this helps you out a little.
