2012 wildand fire thread

I'm going to start this thread now, since it appears to be a matter if when (not if) there is a major wildland fire somewhere in WI this spring. The easy money is on last summer's blowdown area in the far NW corner but many areas of the state are primed and ready.

In DNR-managed areas, keep an ear on the Forestry channels and the DNR aircraft AM channels...I've been hearing a lot of activity on those channels, even in southern WI, as I've traveled about the state in the last couple weeks.

Key channels are the Green, Yellow, Blue and White repeaters, Red, Brown and 122.925 MHz AM

Hey there, ya speak of the blowdown area up in the NW corner of this state, that is near my hometown . Anyways, you`re right that this will be an intresting summer, if only for the mess that is the blowdown, i for one will be keeping an ear to the DNR channels, when i was down in Green Lake recently i heard some chatter on blue about some campfires that were being checked on, not much after that. This summer will be VERY intresting. N9NRA

Wondering if anyone can validate which Freq is really the Repeater output, as I have seen more than one list showing the pairs reversed as well for the USFS

10-04, just looking to validate the info for the Wiki
As many of the USFS have changed channels, Repeaters and Tones etc
with Narrowbanding.

Any confirmations, I can edit the wiki as needed
