• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

2013 Ford Expedition XLT (3rd Gen Expy)
I just bought a civilian version and am considering deleting the third row seats to add storage, but more importantly I want radio remote equipment stowage. I am wondering if there are any kits made to do this and more importantly did someone buy a fleet Expy and get saddled with one they wish to part with? I am in Florida, Pictures appreciated even if for information. Thanks
The 3rd row seats fold flat when unused creating more cargo deck space. This is an improvement over my 1st gen 2001 Expy. However there is little surface area to bolt stuff down to as the seat backs and jack stowage eat into the floor deck. If the seats are deleted, there is a large amount of area the seats occupied that can still have a carpeted cover and retain all that open deck. The third generation has been on the road 2007 - 2014 (and beyond?) so there may be a third party solution.
While I am sure I can get this fabricated, the dimensions are sort of odd and it might be easier to adapt an existing solution. Yeah there are Overlander sites where folks knock together some plywood and 2x4's, but I am looking for aluminum or steel box or shelf, grounding and bonding etc. Top with plywood if I must.

Current Ford SSV has three bins.

HAVIS, JOTTO and GAMBER-JOHNSON.
Do you have links? I have found a Havis console that adapts my factory center console to convert the armrest to a radio console and it is on the way. But I have not found any bins for the third row area.

I think I am going with this SBX5015 style. It will put everything underneath the cargo deck. I am trying to maximize that area and with the second row folded down, still have that space completely flat for car camping or just hauling stuff. I am surprised it , SBX5015, is not shown for earlier model years as the third row seating is similar. But it will be a matter of the exact dimensions as it bolts in using existing holes. I have searched and nothing for model years of the third generation Expeditions. I probably could get this fabricated out of diamond plate locally, which may allow me to extend the front of the box a bit and retain the strength vs material thickness.

The nice thing about the Havis is that there is an electronics tray in the bottom that can be removed and drilled to accommodate whatever electronics, after the fact. As a side note, when I called to add this to my ins policy, my insurer asked if the vehicle is "unmodified". Apparently they get burned on camper conversions and such. I am striving toward having the only "permanent" modification be a bunch of NMO holes in the roof. Not keen on drilling and cutting up new-to-me vehicle.

That looks neet and could be built out of plywood for a lot less money vent holes drilled and would also hide all the toys out of site.
I once decked out an E350 15 passenger van with plywood and T Nuts for an overland trip once. It was actually fairly simple and the nuts were for tying down gear and bikes. If I knew exactly what radios and associated gear I intend to install in future, the plywood and T Nuts would work. But I need something where I can add a hole randomly and deal with a blind hole or have access below.
