All my vehicles I have always had a Radio Shack PRO 163/652 or similar box scanner mounted somehere. I just got this 214 Honda Pilot, and it is too nice to mount something permanently. For now, I am using this handheld BC 325 along with my dash cam and radar detector. I may change my mind, but I also ordered a mobile glass mount antenna. I have had good luck with those, so I don't want to drill holes- nor do I have a trunk lip to mount to.
