If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I just leased a 2015 VW Jetta SE for the wife to drive n figured since I'll eventually have to ride shotgun, I might as well have something to play with/listen too.....
Am wanting a scanner......digital trunk tracker .........n an antenna,.... but since it's a lease,,.........I can't go modifying the interior or making holes to mount antennas......
Anyone have any VW Jetta pics with scanner, or antennas mounted on them..?
Any suggestions?

Trunk lip mount or fender mount bracket could work. Do not have pictures, I don't own any Volkswagons, but there are many ways of not punching holes to mount antennas.

I had a mag mount on her previous Corolla' (for my GRE 800), but the paint started changing colors where the magnet would adhere to the trunk.......I don't want that happening again.....

Fender mount.....?

Something like this might be what you're after... (disclaimer: I have no connection to this website, just one I'm using as an example...there are other sources):

I have a 2014 Jetta with 3 trunk lip mount antennas attached to a TM-V71A, NX 200 and BCD436HP. I drilled for the remote mounts and mic clips. I leased also, but I am not worried as I plan on buying the car and the holes are small enough you can hide even if I decided not to.

Cool, what whip do you suggest.......mostly 800....

I use the one linked to below. It's great for receiving on all bands in my experience. Not really that great for transmitting in ham frequencies but if you're wanting to receive in the bands it's for my experience is this one is great. Plus, being black and about 18" tall it looks good on the vehicle - not too big or gaudy, etc. Check it out (it's available from multiple sources, but here's one as an example)...

I installed a dual band mobile in my 2009 Jetta TDi without drilling a single hole.

For the antenna I used a trunk-lip mount. After being in use for 3 years, when I removed
it to sell the Jetta, there were no remnants of the mount. All I had to do was buff out the
area with a clear-coat safe polish. No visible marks or paint discoloration. Here are some
examples.

I mounted the control head using a Lido LM-300 seat bolt mount. This way I could still
use my cup holders and the storage space under the center stack.
Mounting Solutions For Amateur Radio

I installed the main RF unit in the trunk by bolting it up under the rear shelf. A picture is
in the TDi Club thread below. I ran the cable for the control head from the trunk thru the
cargo pass-through panel, under the back seat and under the carpet without removing the
front seats or center console. Removing the bottom cushion of the back seat is easy,
no tools needed.

Here are the details of my installation on the TDi Club forum. There are other installs in this
discussion topic as well for you to get ideas.

I just got a '12 VW GLI Autobahn and will post some pics soon. No holes or drilling, yet semi-permanent but easily removed when you turn in your lease. This same setup and same exact Proclip parts will work with your '15 Jetta.

PSR-800 using belt clip with Proclip mount on the side of the console and Proclip button and belt clip holder.

Larsen NMO trunk-lip mount on trunk with Larsen Tri-Band antenna center lip of trunk.
