Hello, I am racking my brain trying to figure out where exactly to mount my Uniden BCD996P2 and a Yeasu uhf/vhf mobile in the vehicle, would any of you be willing to help me pick a secure, out of the way, safe spot? they could be in different locations too...
I have NMO's on the roof already, just need to figure out radio placement locations.

Not everyone will be familiar with your two devices, so an image(s) also showing dimensions will be of help.

The LIDO Seatbolt Mount is a default radio mount choice. The phone, GPS, etc., can also be thus secured.

As to firewall penetration the most fruitful avenue is to research this on vehicle enthusiast forums. No need to re-invent the wheel where the same routing as others has been successful (search under, “radio install”, or, transceiver).

The typical places are an un-used clutch cable opening; steering column; and best (IMO) is a starboard A/C line opening.

Grommet or cable gland (better) plus having the 12V power cable (ANCOR Marine Grade) under a split-loom cover if making one’s own.

12V Neg to closest good (tested) Ground.

The more thorough your info on the install, the more help to another in the future.
