Mine is similar to the attached but it is not designed for the VHF low band and is overkill if you don't need to transmit. For 40 years I used dipoles cut for 28 MHz or 35 MHz with excellent results. Much simpler, easier and cheaper. If I wasn't transmitting on HF I would just go with a dipole. Of course, if land and money were not issues I would definitely go with a log periodic.

Thank u sir, I have a dipole cut for 10 meters so I hope I have room to install it. I hope I can hear some low band skip this season.

I have found that the data bursts are easier to hear if you put your scanner in AM mode and open the squelch. Even better would be if you had SSB.
