Recently my time has become increasingly devoted to other tasks, leaving me no time to keep up with things. I'm attempting to share some good data, on the federal forum, that I've received from a source I developed last summer. I need to post more threads to confirm these data, which apply to local areas in AZ, but I have more data than time.

So the monsoon has not arrived. I have some friends in the valley, retired types. They call this the "nonsoon." This is their first year here, so they wanted to watch the monsoon they had heard about for years. They did mention that they got a good storm today. Fire restrictions all over the state have been reestablished except for the southeast corner of the state.

Thanks for the report!
PDC-1612 BUMBLE BEE FIRE

500 acres plus, expected to be a Type 1 tomorrow.

172.525 Command (BLM)
167.125 Air attack
134.175 Victor
132.125 Rotor

Multiple helos, LATS; VLATS ordered

Thanks for the report! This hasn't hit InciWeb yet and we can't hear the BLM worth a darn up here. It will probably hit the website tomorrow.

The Bumble Bee Fire was from last week. Maybe it made it onto InciWeb, and has since been cleared? (I don't know how long incidents remain listed.)

Now don't I appear as the scattered brain blond here? I didn't check the date of your post. Too much going on for me in the home today!

I've forgotten to mention one change in dispatch centers in Arizona for natural resource agencies. The dispatch center for the Apache-Sitgreaves NF, White Mtn. Apache and fire dispatching for Petrified Forest National Park, was moved from Show Low to Springerville this year. It is now located inside the A-S Forest Supervisor Office in Springerville. I've been hearing them identify as such since this last winter, but I kept forgetting to post it.

Interesting. The state-wide dry conditions allow the plume to be easily visible on weather sites.

Satellite view: Ventusky - Weather Forecast Maps

Another similar plume visible on the AZ/NM border at ~ Lat.: 33°37'N / Lon.: 109°4'W / Altitude: 2042m

Also a very large area in SoCal.

Looking at it via GOES WEST, it's definitely growing and burning hot in the canyon.

and you can see the plume forming and blowing toward Phoenix

Also, for those familiar with the area, it's currently burning in the same area that the Goodwin, Cellar, and Gladiator fires burned... though looking at the current vegetation, there is no visible burnscar, it's all bright green on the 7-2-1 imagery.

I love it here. Its very hot in the summer, but if you have Air Conditioning its fine. The rest of the year its beautiful. Just private message me, so we don't tie up this thread, I'll tell you all about it.
