Logs: 5-26-20 to 6-4-20

Scanner was set to a system where all frequencies have a tone squelch set to allow 150 Hz tone through.
This is to make sure the scanner doesn't lock on to noise while I'm out on the road working.
All freqs should be assumed to be US military. Only exceptions would be if someone were using the freqs with 151.4 or 146.2,
I have the tone squelch set to either of them or both as an experiment.

30.000 Unk with Key Ups and voice.
30.450 Range Operations probably Fort Hood Texas.
32.100 Unk
34.500 Unk
36.500 Unk
40.950 Unk
41.500 Unk possible Helo.
41.800 Helicopter Could hear the helo sound plainly.
49.950 Unk Helos and other units.

40.670 CSQ SNOTEL Copied today once I got Home and went back to regular scanning... Also
50.315 US Amateur FT8

Monitored from Central KY. using BCT15X, Ringo Ranger AR6 now at 120 feet up from 30, and freescan.

He said - (ya tengo - uno cero ocho..) "I have 1-0-8.." then it breaks up and I cant hear what hes saying exactly but he's reading numbers, then I can hear "6- 6, 66, its like a chair" (seis-seis, seisenta seis, es como una silla). After that, it's hard to make out what he's saying besides "thank you" and "thank you very much" @Dispatrick
What antenna do you use? Looking to start monitoring lowband myself.

Thank you for the translation! I actually tracked it down to a DPW in hudson county lol. a user came on the other day speaking English and I recognized a few street names. (doubled checked on google maps)

I use a discone antenna mounted to my chimney. works great for everything in between 25-1300Mhz

No problem! And cool - I never even tried scanning low band because I didn't think my discone or current antennas would suffice. I threw on a CB antenna and got a hit on 10M - 29.6200 - so Ill start scanning there more often. Thanks!

Dispatrick and his discone reminded me first time I remember getting low band skip on my scanner I was using one half of telescoping rabbit ears. The last section was broke off and re-soldered back on. Connection was 12" of twin lead wired into 12" of RG58. Worked superb on 800-900 back in the day, but that one time working on low band was enough to get me interested in chasing skip.

33 MHz fire freqs hopping again here in Southeastern Ohio. 33.58 and 33.90 particularly active. Heavy fading but all stations are in the Eastern time zone. The 33.90 base I'm hearing frequently is dropping a bunch of old school Plectron tones trying to get volunteer squads to handle an MVC. Can't catch an address due to the dispatcher talking fast and a lot of signal fading. No one is using call signs. I'll keep listening ...
