2026 Janesville Pistons & Props Airshow – Anyone Monitoring Friday Practice?

Is anyone in the Janesville/Rock County area planning to monitor the Pistons & Props Airshow practice/rehearsal today, Friday, August 28?

There is an airshow NOTAM in effect today from approximately noon–2:00 PM CDT. I’ll be monitoring from the Janesville area and would be interested in comparing notes with anyone else listening.

I’m especially interested in identifying and confirming:

• Air Boss frequency
• F-35A Demo Team frequencies
• MiG-17 / Fighterjets frequencies
• Warbird Thunder / Big Red frequencies
• Any other performer or airshow discrete frequencies

I have 123.550, 123.150, 123.175, 123.450, 123.475 and several military-air frequencies programmed, along with the normal JVL Tower and Rockford Approach frequencies.

If anyone hears something today, please post the frequency, approximate time, and what you heard so we can compare notes and build a confirmed list for Saturday and Sunday.

@jrkorth , I didn't see an STA license for this event, so possibly using Twr/CTAF 118.8

Please let me know what you find.

We spent a couple of hours at the airport yesterday (Friday), until about 2:00p.m. Seemed like business as normal. There were regular take off and landings, contact with the tower on normal 118.8. I did not see any practice flights or hear any new frequencies.

I did confirm the frequency for the Warbird Thunder will operate on 123.425.

If you have any other confirmed information, please post it.

I just read that "The regular USAF F-35A Demonstration Team WILL NOT perform. The Pistons & Props site now says today's F-35 appearance is a special fly-by by the 115th Fighter Wing Wisconsin ANG from Truax Field in Madison."

Anyone have confirmed frequencies used by the 115th Fighter Wing of the Wisconsin ANG?
