That’s really an unusual call sign.
Yeah it is. Not sure what the deal is there. I've seen that before elsewhere, but usually on mobile only licenses. No clue on that one. Would be curious to know if they are permanently back on lowband. Hopefully so, for backup purposes or whatever.

Band was weak here lots of noise still. Angelo :/

EPAR frequencies (confirmed - the polytone signals)

31.3250 MHz
31.4750 MHz
31.6875 MHz

In addition to those listed:

31.3875 MHz
31.4375 MHz
31.4625 MHz
31.9250 MHz
31.9750 MHz

At least for me, it seems like 31.325 MHz and 31.6875 MHz are the busiest, or least are the easiest for me to hear.

Yeah it is. Not sure what the deal is there. I've seen that before elsewhere, but usually on mobile only licenses. No clue on that one. Would be curious to know if they are permanently back on lowband. Hopefully so, for backup purposes or whatever.

Back when "system licensing" was all the rage, a licensee could choose one call sign to consolidate several stand-alone FCC licenses. For example, if you had KXX911, KXX912, KXX917, and KYY232 for base stations and mobile license KZ9998, you could consolidate all of them under KXX911. One call sign. One expiration date. No need for mobiles to identify separately.

There were a handful of cases where an old-school mobile call sign (2 letters and 4 numbers, or later on, 2 letters and 5 numbers) was chosen by the licensee and the FCC granted it. In other situations, a mobile-only license "grew" to include base stations and the FCC simply kept the old mobile call sign. The rigidity of the old FCC call sign system gave way to practicality -- and perhaps, some user laziness.

As an example, the City of Powell Ohio police department started off with a mobile only license on 155.55 MHz for comms between their village cruisers. They were dispatched on another VHF repeater pair licensed to the Delaware County Sheriff's Office.

As Powell grew, they added a base station in the city and a backup base at the county dispatch center 10 miles away. Later on, they made 155.55 MHz a repeater output for an FB2 repeater system. The call sign remained KD44241 for the entirety of the license grant before switching to an 800 MHz trunked system.

It's not the norm, but there area a handful of random and out-of-classification call signs out there now.

Just a question for you all: Do you also happen to see these TPL eDMR Signals around 39.5MHz? I suspect the caribbean or Guyana.
As for the rest of low band...yes, there is something going on in the middle east...one does notice it
