2055 vs 163

so i just got my 2nd 163 and im not impressed i though the first one might just be a lesser radio but the 2nd one is the same way are they really that much worse then the 2055 ? 163 you have to turn the SQ up more then 2055 to scan and the 163 seems to have more static did win the lotto and get 2 bad units? or is the 2055 really a better radio?

wow.i dont turn squelch up far in my 163. when looking at the volume set at comfortable level,the wite line on volume knob is about straight to left . set my squelch white marker on knob at same area. rarely much more unless lots of white noise is present,and all my scanners need set up a tad at those times. 2 unidens and 3 radio shacks at same time
