What is the explanation for receiving a "clear as a bell" signal from WWXI Channel 12 in Winston Salem on this freq. while I am approx. 200 miles away in SC????

Signal from cable TV system?

209.75 is the audio for both broadcast TV channel 12 and cable TV channel 12. If your local cable system carries that Salem channel you're probably hearing the signal "leak" from a bad connection in your home or the neighborhood.

I've noticed a few places around town where a cable channel will come in loud and clear.

Channel 12 is 204-210 MHz. Why the distance? Tropo scatter? Ducting? There are many things that extend the range of a signal.

What is your terrain like there? I know there are some HUGE tv towers around. Here in Michigan where it is relatively flat I can pick up some stations over 100 miles. Maybe your setup at home is enough to pull this in?

The terrain really varies beteen here and there; I have 2 Pro-2052s with a RS discone in the attic...I was just curious, as I had never experienced this before.
