Does anyone know whether the 2096 can be mounted in the dash of a 2004 Suburban?. There is an empty tray below the radio and air conditioning controls that might work if it can be removed.

thanks, I think Helm, Inc manuals (with factory specs for the Suburban) will also help for the factory stuff if the fit is right. As they say, size matters, so why bother is if doesn't fit..your input helps....

I can't speak for a Suburban, but this install is "an empty tray below the radio" and was a catch all pocket with brackets attached to the radio/CD. These brackets were reshaped to accommodate mounting the scanner.

BTW, the AC controls are directly below this slot and were not involved in the install.

A larger view can be found here near the bottom.

Thanks Frank, the discussion thread from earlier in February has a lot of info which will help me. I do believe I'll have to be careful with all the controls and computer interface on the Suburban, like all newer cars today....Dave
