2096 status?

Well, I think we all have heard September as the release date.....however, it has not even been type accepted yet!

Guess Radio Shack/GRE will keep us on the edge of our seats for this one!

I know I've mentioned this before, but if you remeber the 96 wasn't due out 'till october '03 then hit the market by surprise in late August. Also it wasn't type accepted until right before it hit the market. So I say we're up to any week.

Uhhh.. reality check time.

The PRO-96 received type acceptance on 6/13/2003 and was not made available until about 2 1/2 months later. So, any comparison to draw between the 96 and the 2096 says it won't be available until the beginning of November.

Granted, they CAN offer it the same day it receives type acceptance, but again, I was drawing the comparison between the 96 TA and release.

Thanks for correcting me! I guess my memory wasn't that good, but I thought it went on the market right after it got type acceptance. But I can be wrong.

all I was saying was I heard not to expect it much before the end of September......if it is after that(which none of us acually knows when it will be type accepted) then oh well....we all will just continue to watch...

But hopefully it is soon, I think I would rather buy the 2096 than the 796.......I think anyway!

Little to none. They are in two different classes. One is a portable while the other is a mobile. It's not as if one is a replacement for the other (as the PRO-96 make the PRO-95 price drop).
