• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Hi,

I'm considering purchasing the Pro 2096 during the upcoming sale and read a post on the RS site that the 2096 does not do "I-calls on MOtorola systems. Does the 2096 not do any trunking features the 2055 or the BCT15/996T do?

Tnx,

Mike

The 2096 is similar to the 2055 except it doesn't have signal stalker, and it does not track LTR systems.

I know this sounds bad but, only if you want to follow a LTR system. If you are not going to follow an LTR system you will not miss it.

Check the database for your area to see if any public safety agencies use LTR. Our county police and all but one town use LTR here.
