23 Omega One, 15 alpha One ?

Ok I hear it daily, each time a cal goes out overthe local fire freq (33.940, Batavia Ohio) they will call out with a 23 omega one, or alpha 1 or something along those lines, not always the same, though some days they are.

Any idea as to what these are?

Or rather what they mean.

I do assume it wil be for my area only, but what is it to begin with?

Sounds like it is the Medical code for the type of call. I know in this area (salt lake county) there are codes from 1-32 and then add to it alpha-echo for the severety of the response.

Example: 29-Delta is a Auto accident requiring Bls, Als, Ambulance, Recue all to run code 3.

many thanks...my neighboring county's ems just switched to these....however they say priority 1-3 before signal so it sounds redundant
