This is from the "easy to read" manual from Mark's scanner page, which is a great resource. Is this correct? Seems backward to me. Can't find my 246 manual to confirm. If set to ignore it alerts, and if set to alert it doesn't alert?

Set Emergency Alert (Motorola/EDACS systems only) sets how your scanner handles radio traffic that has
the emergency flag set. The default setting is ignore.
Scroll to 'Emergency Alert' and press E/Yes.
Scroll to one of two settings and press E/Yes to save and exit.
Ignore- the scanner will alert you by beeping 3 times.
Alert- the scanner will not alert
