Assuming you've programmed in some talkgroup id's, you hit Function and 5 to toggle between tg numbers and id's.
And yes, it is in the manual.

Thanks for the reply Mike! But this seems to only change to frequency from id's. I wanted to change to Name so I can see who is talking! My 250D shows frequency and Name of talkgroup! If this is possible for my 246t, any suggestion would be appreciated. Also pg.no. in manuel so I can read. Thanks for the help!

It should be doing it automatically once the name has been entered. Have you SENT the new data from the computer to the scanner to update the info? As far as I've found there is no way to toggle with this radio but it looks like you want to see the names not the numbers.
Just a thought, hope it helps. The thought came to mind when I remembered doing this when first setting mine up. Made changes on the computer and forgot to send them to the radio. Couldn't figure why I wasn't hearing the new entries.

Wouldn't that just toggle the System Group you have assigned to QUICK KEY #5 ? If done in sequence rather than FUNC+5 at the same time, it puts the scanner into DIRECT ENTRY MODE.
Manual pg 40 states that there should be a label under the key for it to be considered usable in conjunction with the FUNC key. Sort of like a SHIFT key on a keyboard.
Don't hold the FUNC while hitting 5.

This topic is being discussed on another forum as well, the same FUNC+5 answer was given but a bit less...civil-like after both myself and another 246 owner stated that we were unable to get the result he 'suggested'. What was put forth as a plain as day solution to the problem (just press HOLD and 5...I'll speak slowly for you) made us feel as if we were missing something or just plain nincompoops.

With my 246t the Hamilton Region (Motorola Type 2) everything shows up good!!System Name and Group Name. Halton Region (Edacs Wide) System Name and ID NO. not the ID Name. Fleetnet (Motorola Type 2) System Name and ID NO. not the ID Name. I have been looking for days to see how to change the other systems because I know Hamilton Region works good! Any suggestions? Thanks Guys
I still think it should be automatic according to the manual. Only other choice that comes to mind is wipe it clean and reload your saved file. If it works don't ask why just be thankful. If not, I'm stumped. Maybe send Paul a private message to see what he thinks?
You might also consider lowering your transfer speed between the computer and scanner in case it is sending errors. Also check to make sure you've not filled the memory.
Could just be a glitch that sending the programming through to an empty scanner would solve. FUNC + 5 will not work.

Have you tried running the virtual control in ARC as well and does it show up the same?
