Heard some interesting traffic on 171.6125 today on P25 in the clear. After weeks/months of nothing, heard "F13 and Z10 conducting a radio test" on "Fed V CTac 91".
Also heard ID "WETA testing with Cal OES". They also mentioned "San Francisco Dispatcher" or something similar. Not sure what WETA stands for, but may have those wrong. Wonder if this is related to the October 4th FEMA testing. Good copy from my post here in Fremont. You might take a listen on Wednesday and see if there is any activity.

I lived in San Mateo/Redwood City for several years after the VHF (& UHF) federal interop repeaters were installed, and was always disgusted at how they were never used, during major SF, Bay Area, statewide & federal-level disaster response exercises & the occasional real-world event necessitating federal interop, so I'm glad you're hearing some, albeit little, traffic these days. Search 406-411MHz federal repeater output spectrum and maybe someday you'll catch the UHF link. It's been 10+ years since I GTFO of the SF Bay area, but I recall one or both of those federal interop repeaters was at the City/County of SF Twin Peaks LMR site (which also has a small emergency comms center in the building, I've been told...), though one may have been on the nearby Sutro Tower.

Interesting you mentioned the UHF link, because I'm sure they said "Fed U CTac 91", but I was hearing then on VHF. So maybe they were using UHF frequencies and linked to VHF. And I agree the radio site was probably in SF County.

next time you hear them on VHF see what you get on the UHF channels as well
