The geostationary satellites will all be south of you, some to the south east and some to the south west but looking north is a no go for antennas. Plus a Discone even in the clear is marginal at best. Is radiation pattern is ok for low on the horizon satellites but not so good for high upward angles. Thanks, Marcy57, I have tried all day and night and cannot pick up anything, I am in a six-story building and I am on the fourth floor with my discone antenna facing north out on my balcony, cannot pick anything up.
