250D almost dead

My BC250D is just about dead. Water got into the unit and it will only scan on my last selected bank number. It will not go to the manual mode or scan any other bank. There are no backlight function or any keyboard button functions for that matter anymore.

I will replace it with another 250D as I see it is still listed on Unidens website as a current model.

Since I will be replacing this unit, I'm asking all of you what other HANDHELD units you recommend and why. In other words, what does your recommendations offer that the 250D does not have?
