Is there a place to buy a replacement screen? I accidentally dropped my 250D several months ago and it landed in gravel. I really didn't drop it, it fell about 2 feet out of my truck. It scratched the screen about 1/4 inch right in the middle. It is kind of hard to read when the light hits it just right. Is there a way to fix this scratch without replacing. It is a pretty deep scratch. I have been sick about it for several months now. If this has already been posted, sorry, just direct me to the post. Thanks in advance for any info.

I've heard that toothpaste, which is a mild abrasive, can be used to remove scratches

Also heard that a silk tie can do the same.

If you really want to go overboard, McGuire's car wax makes products that are clear plastic cleaners and a clear plastic polish. I believe these vary by number according to strength.

I've never tried any of these solutions, but I do buy PDA screen protectors at my nearby office supply store and trim them to fit around the display. Looks kind of dorky, and anyone who handles the radio feels the urge to peel the "protective plastic" off, but it does the job. :)

As far as replacement parts, I can't help ya' there. Good luck!

speaking of people who like to peel the plastic off. We recently got new fire pagers in our dept. They all came with the little plastic cover over the lcd display. It absolutely drove my wife up the wall because I wouldn't peel mine off. I should do the same with my scanner.
