I know that with the new 396 you can program what I'll call a personalized welcome screen i.e. your name etc for when you turn on the radio. Is there or will there be a way to do this to the bc 296?

are you thinking of the pro 96?

The Pro96 is not a Uniden scanner. The 296 intro cannot be reset.
