296D Upgrade

This will probably be best answered by UPman but I am sure others might be able to answer. Will there ever be an upgrade for the 296/796 to get the audio to somewhere closer to where it should be on the digital radios. I am thinking of an upgrade for what is being done on the 396/996 or will myself and everyone else that owns one have to live with the horrible audio on a P25 system. Yes I know you can make adjustments but they don't help. Would like to get audio that come from a 396 on a 296. Any thoughts would be great.

I have a 296 as well as a 396 and 996. I don't find the audio really any worse on the 296, are you talking about the decoding as opposed to the audio?

I have a 296d and the audio on any digitally modulated signal is ethier too loud or to low. The decoding works fine. I just hope there will be an update that will help in tracking the STAR's system here in Va.
