3 killed in Clarksburg when 2 communications towers collapse - News - The Charleston Gazette - West Virginia News and Sports -CLARKSBURG, W.Va. -- Three men died, including a firefighter, and another two were injured when two communications towers collapsed Saturday in Clarksburg, emergency officials said.
Four contractors were working on a "multi-purpose communications tower" when it collapsed Saturday morning, said Lawrence Messina, spokesman for the West Virginia Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety.
Two men were pronounced dead at the scene. The other two were being treated when a second tower collapsed, Messina said. A local firefighter was treating one of the injured men and was killed when the second tower fell.
