At about 1302 Pacific time today I caught a week signal of two aircraft (Im guessing millitary)
having an informal conversation on 32.0800 in AM mode, the signal was week so I was not able to catch much.

Has anyone else ran across activity on this one before??

I can't even think of an mil aircraft radio that will do AM mode on that frequency, they are usually FM only in the 30-90MHz band.

The Customs & Border Patrol aircraft occasionally use FM on the 16X.XXX ranges.

What are the defined ranges for military in the LVHF band?

I did try listening to the conversation in FM with no success.
Using the AM mode produced the cleanist audio.

Its not strange. SINCGARS radios can run up to 15 kHz deviation.
They will often sound distorted on a scanner or other narrow FM receiver designed for 5 kHz max deviation.

They also operate in the upper 46, 49 & 51 mhz area here in the northeast. I've found your average scanner handles the wider deviation better then an actual 2-way radio. So don't let the 15 khz deviation scare you. And the common military PL is 150 hz.
