Hi All

Anyone hearing 32.825 mhz PL 151.4. I using an BCT15 and picked up that frequency yesterday on skip.
Sounds like an air controller talking to military jets. Could be an tactical training frequency. Texas maybe?
I seen scannerfreak has the frequency logged as coming from alabama but with an PL of 150.0
Will record it today to try to catch some call signs. The dude talks real real fast and he is hard to keep up with, ha!

Scanners don't receive the PL of 150.0 that the military use. I am not sure why but on scanners it shows up as 151.4.

It shows up because it's 1.4 Hz off and the scanner's PL detector can't discriminate errors that small.

Ah, just checked wikipedia about ctcss tones and military does use the 150.0 tone. ok. It's not actually an error, it just that scanners have the standard ctcss tones programmed in the firmware and not 150.0 that the military uses to avoid interference with 151.4. I wonder why they don't have non-standard tones in consumer scanners? hmmmm

32.825 MHz Mode ?

32.8250 150.0 Lowe Army Heliport, Ft Rucker AL

Hi kkn50

Hey, I checked the RR DB and they have Fort Rucker frequency 32.8250 mhz mode as AM and I'm picking up that frequency in FM mode and they have the tone as CSQ and I'm getting an 151.4, I know the military uses 150.0 . It could be CSQ maybe but usually if it's CSQ the scanner will not show a tone, hmmm. Strange. Oh, do you pick up fort rucker on your scanner ? Do you know if they have an helicopter or aircraft with an call sign of Zero Six Bravo ? I heard that call sign this afternoon. And the controller was talking to some aircraft that had an possible emergency. I heard the controller ask for an ID but did not catch it. I heard a transmission but it came out garbled.

I don't know who you are hearing but I've heard Ft Rucker several times on 32.825 FM, 150.0 squelch. As stated above, it will decode on 151.4.

I as well hear 32.8250 mhz (FM) 150.0 ctcss
Air Traffic Control Tower (Helicopter's)
Fort Rucker, Alabama

It comes in full quieting offten here in N/W Nevada.

I pick up several other active freqs in the VHF Low Govt Band using 150.0 hz as well.

I have quite an extensive list of those freqs and growing during this skip cycle.

32.825 was in use there - it was confirmed by several listeners. I have not heard it lately and it could have changed but the traffic you heard is consistent with its noted use.

Hi

32.8250 is in use yet, has not changed, heh heh. I think the reason it's not listed on airport directories is because it's an atc tactical frequency. Their non-classified frequencies yes but not the classified ones, ha ha.

I think I need a better antenna, might set up a dipole cut to 30 mhz. At least something with some gain, unity gain sucks.
