Thanks for the reply. I was look for a frequency to plug in a scanner. I run a snow plow in Parry Sound on the 400.I would like to listen at home. But I'm guessing it is trunked, digital and unscannable. My knowledge for this is very limited. This system is used all over Ontario. The Dispatch answers to " 321" . I could try a frequency scanner.

You are most likely on the system I posted. The MTO are trunked, analog and definitely scannable.

Do you have a display on your radio? That might give us a hint as to what channel you're on although the best bet would be the Parry Sound channel on FleetNet.

My recommendation is pick up a older trunk tracking scanner. You won't need P25 although I recommend one that does it. You can then program in the local tower and track your MTO talkgroups. There may be more than one if you are near a plowing boundary. If you are looking for a portable scanner, something like the older BCD396T or XT would be just about perfect.

Here is what is on the radio. I'm going to get my frequency counter out, and see if I can get the frequency. Not sure that will work.

Great, thanks. I have a regular analogue scanner. I have tried programing those numbers in one bank. Have not heard anything yet. I'll get trunking capable scanner and try that. Thanks for your help.

What scanner do you have?

You could program in the frequencies but unfortunately, you'll hear only digital noise when the OPP talk.

That looks like a DMR Motorola mobile radio. That won't work on Fleetnet
Yes, it will work but every time you key the mic, you'll get a different input frequency since it's on this trunking system: Bell FleetNet Ontario Provincial Government Zone 2 Trunking System, Southeast Zone, Ontario (radioreference.com)

You'll need a trunking capable scanner. Once you've got that program in this site:

Parry Sound District141.300141.435141.690142.320c142.515c142.650c142.980
143.310

and then you'll want to program in this talkgroup:

Thanks. Those are the correct frequencies. I have heard the communications I was looking for. I put those frequencies in a analog scanner. But obviously it does not work correctly. Saving for a P25.

An analog scanner will give just frustration and poor results. We all agree time to save the pennies, cash in the empty beer cans and save for a newer unit :).
