Denver's on a 2nd alarm for a fire in the walls at above address. Red Cross needed for people in 2 apts displaced at this time. E13, 22, 24, 19, 15, 16, 14, Trk 19, 22, 15, 16, Res1cue, Chief 2, 3, 4 all working. Sounds like a fire due to a faulty chimney flue in 607.

I just heard a short conversation on district channel 3 / 787 / 06.023, but it sounds like the fire is out.

06-023 mainly and my online feed was very active, as paged.

Also pretty frustrating they would strip Denver, I mean 14's, 15, and 12's were even there and never request and engine from South Met, Cunningham, Aurora or Parker. Pretty Sad

That's crazy! Especially because if my map is right, Aurora Engine 11 and Cunningham Engine 61 are closer even than Denver Engine 13. And it's right on the border. To bring in Engine 12 from way across town.

But we are not talking the closest units Mike we are talking political and thats a very strong political hot potato but you can bet if I was a Denver resident and needed 12's a pair services on the west side of town (there district) that I would be screaming. It's almost routine in that SE area of town where the AFD, DFD and Cunningham districts are so close to each other.

Anyone familiar with the nursing home directly across the street from Cunningham Admin Offices? Well it's in Aurora so even if someone walked over to admin to get help they would have to call AFD and could not respond with R-61.

That's just the beginning many more EMS examples each day but I won't bother the list, all you have to do is monitor and be surprised.

I do know what you're talking about with politics. I'm not surprised at all. I was just commenting on how ridiculous it is that while it was in Denver there were two other departments that weren't called in. I can see Denver not wanting them on the initial call, but when it goes to multiple alarms like that, it makes no sense at all.

Speaking of that SE part of town. I used to hear Cunningham R61 running a lot to that nursing home off Dayton St., coresponding with Aurora fire, but lately I haven't heard that at all. They must have stopped, as you elude to. I am very surprised when I hear Denver calling for South Metro Rescue 32 sometimes to respond to their calls. What's going on!

And then, sometimes you routinely hear Cunningham and Parker units responding together on the same call, or Parker and South Metro, etc. I know they're dispatched by the same place, but it's so seamless.

Two of Parkers stations are not actually in "Parker". There is station 72, which is just south of Arapahoe on Parker Rd. Which is walking distance to Cunningham FPD and Aurora FPD. and station 74 just east of I-25 on Lincoln, which is just on the boarder with South Metro.

All of the "DC Fire" districts, and even Littleton and Aurora are good at "Closest station gets the call", but I agree when Denver is involved, it's a different story.
