Just took a 330t out of storage and noticed that on conventional frequencies, the squelch is wide open regardless of the squelch setting from 1 to 10.
Trunking systems are ok, as long as the scanner hears the Motorola end code - if not, the radio will blare static until you press scan again.
Also seems like the scanner is "extremely sensitive." Direct comparison to a 780 and 996 beside the 330t - the mobiles don't pick up any paging system noise where the 330t with the standard rubber ducky antenna sounds like it's also sitting on a paging system even though I'm on an 800 Motorola TRS.
I've also heard of one case of this on a 396T.
Is this a known issue on these handhelds, and any estimate for cost of repair?
