I have a UBC3500XLT.

In the manual as one of the power requirements, it states "3 AA Rechargeable Ni-MH Batteries (2300mAh)".

In a sticker within the battery compartment, it states "[AA alkaline or] ... Specified Ni-MH 1.2V 2300mAh Rechargeable Batteries Only".

The batteries supplied with the radio are actually 2250mAh (Min. 2200mAh).

I am thinking of having a spare set of batteries so that I can continue using the radio when the batteries have drained and I don't have the AC adaptor with me.

Would it matter or damage the radio if I used higher or lower rated rechargeable batteries? Or should I be looking just for batteries rated at 2300mAh?

Thank you in advance for any help,
ROBsLab .

waited long enough

i want to start out i am not familiar with the radio.
ok that said the reason they want 2300mah batteries is
probably the recharge time and amount of current from discharged batteries
so....2300 would be the lowest mah so 2500 or more would not be fully charged but would be close enough
it is so the batteries don't get hot or over charged
if you put in 600mah (solar light)cells they would top off real quiick (about 1/4 the time) and then start to get too hot
batteries do get warm during recharge. warm is ok hot is not.
by the way the batteries won't last forever
