350C question

I'm saving up to install a 350C into my car see my post in the tavern if you have any ideas for it, but i was examing a picture of it and would like to ask some questions as far its design and how to mod it goes. I only want to monitor pd/ fire/ems all the legal stuff to listen to

1. can you hook it up to a computr to imput freq or is it a WYSIWYG type deal that the freq in there are the only ones that it will scan?

2. i was looking at the button to monitor cb it has cb and rr over it, can someone tell me what the rr stands for?

3. also, what kind of connector does the 350c have? is it a motorola connector or a BNC

You have to use the service search or input the frequencies yourself.

how can you input freqs? it doesn't have a keypad that i can see on the front view

You select the frequency using the up/down arrows and then use "E" to enter them into memory.

so does anyone know where to get mods for the 350c? and no i am not talking about cellphone interception mods just any other mods there might be, i think the wanting to listen to cell phones is just dumb and wrong on so many levels. Thanks

1. No computer interface.

2. CB search, but NO railroad search. The images are misleading.

3. BNC connector on the back.

I had a 350C for a while and it's a good, basic scanner. Small enough to put almost anywhere in a car, and included accessories (telescoping antenna, suction cup antenna, DC wire, DC cigarette lighter, mobile bracket) get you started right away.

Only gripe is that you have to go through quite a process to enter frequencies into the unit's memory. You might want to consider the Uniden BCT-8; it has a computer interface, does trunking, and can input frequencies directly.

FYI: www.usascan.com has the BCT-8 for about $169 (including shipping).

i gotta go with the 350, it's the only thing that will fit into my armrest and will still give me enough room to hook in the antenna and external antenna andpower source, i plan to put the scanner in there with the face towards the roof and the 350c has 800 mhz and everything that i need except digital but have no need for it and it might be a tight fit in the storage space besides, i always carry my pro 95 with me so i'm just using that to help get what i miss like aircraft band and weak signals

This is a great scanner I have 3 of them but, as others have said they are a pain to program. The easiest way to do it is run the band you want when it gets near the freq you want hit hold. Then use the up down buttons to go to the exact freq. Then hit program then private then program again and its entered.
